Erin Irvin, Office Manager
Erin was raised in White Salmon, WA. She began working in the Dental field in 2004 after moving to the Seattle area, where she lived for 10 years. She relocated to the Portland area in 2009 to join the Eilers Dental Team where she wears many hats around this crazy place. From the reception area to sterilization and everything in between, she also certification to take radiographs on patients. She most enjoys the challenge of insurance billing (which is constantly changing) and the day-to-day interaction with patients. In her free time, Erin enjoys hanging out with her husband, Dirk, and son Hunter (5 ½ years old, he started kindergarten this fall) as well as their other “baby”, their dog Tucker. Going to the beach, the Hood River area, snowboarding, running and being outside are among her favorites activites to enjoy outside of the office. You won’t need to know her long to find that Erin is also a HUGE sports fan. There are two teams that she won’t miss watching… the Oregon Ducks and the Seattle Seahawks, and if you come in to the office on game day you will be sure to see her decked out in fan gear from head to toe.
Amy Gurley, Front Office
Amy was born and raised in San Diego, California. She began working in the Dental field years ago after moving to Flagstaff, Arizona, where she lived for 3 years. In 2017, Amy decided to follow her dream of living in the Pacific Northwest and moved to Portland. Shortly after settling into the area, Amy joined the Eilers Dental team to assist with the many duties of our front office. She most enjoys building positive relationships with patients by providing empathetic, compassionate and smart customer service and communication. Amy also loves to make people laugh, whether it be coworkers or patients. When she isn’t working, Amy enjoys spending time with her son Wilder and her family. She loves to go hiking, read, listen to podcasts, enjoy the many delicious restaurants in the area or spend time cooking at home. You may see her exploring the area on her bike, fitting in well with the population in Portland!
Michelle Asay, Front Office
Although she was born in California, Michelle was raised in Portland and has lived in this area ever since. She graduated from Wilson High School. Michelle worked in the dental field years ago before taking a break to raise her children and pursue other things. Her love for patients brought her back to the dental office about 3 years ago and she found her niche at Eilers Dental in early 2018. Michelle enjoys talking to people, making them feel comfortable and helping anxious patients feel at ease. Outside of the office, Michelle loves spending time with her husband, Bruce as well as her two boys, Michael (age 24) and Hunter (age 14). Being outside in nature is her happy place, whether alone, with family, or on a walk with her 8 month old Rottweiler puppy Banner.
Janet Strege, Registered Dental Hygienist
Janet grew up in The Dalles, OR where most of her family still calls home. She moved to Portland to attend Dental Hygiene School at Mt. Hood Community College, from which she graduated in 2006. After a brief move to Utah where she worked in a General Practice office, the love of Oregon brought her and her husband, her high school sweetheart, back to settle in Portland. She started working at Eilers Dental in 2007 and has been full time here ever since. She enjoys the wide variety of patients and procedures found in general dentistry and approaching each patient individually and personally. In 2014, she volunteered with Great Shape 1000 Smiles Dental Project in Jamaica, where they provided a variety of dental treatment in remote villages. She enjoys spending her off-time with her husband Chris camping, taking their canoe out for a ride, hiking, gardening and reading. Her daughter Lydia Mae turned 2 in June.
Dani Wilson, Registered Dental Hygienist
Born and raised in the Portland area, Dani went to middle school and high school with Dr. Eilers, both graduating from West Linn High school in 1996. She attended her first two years of college at Oregon State University before transferring to Oregon Health Sciences University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Science in Dental Hygiene in 2000. Dani has experience working in General Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry and in Periodontics. She joined our team in 2010 part-time and became full-time in 2011. Her passion is helping anxious patients overcome their fears in the Dental office, as she herself had suffered for years from a high level of dental anxiety. Finding ways to relate to patients with compassion, humor and getting to know them on a personal level is what makes her love her profession. With 4 kids at home ranging in age from 10-17 (for real, that isn’t a typo), life can definitely get hectic at times rushing to a school program, sporting event, or spending the evening being a taxi service to a social gathering or cheerleading practice. She enjoys playing board games with her children, traveling when possible, re-decorating, crafts, and DIY home projects.Registered Dental Hygienist”]
Tracey Dielman, Registered Dental Hygienist
Our self proclaimed “Air Force Brat”, Tracey spent her childhood moving around a lot as her father was stationed all over the United States. Eventually settling into the Pacific Northwest, she attended Washington State University to receive her Bachelors Degree in Communications in 1997. She began her career in the Dental field in 1999 as a dental assistant until beginning Dental Hygiene school in 2003 at Lake Washington Technical College. While she loved living in the Bellingham/Seattle area, her husband’s job transferred them to Portland in 2014. Tracey has experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. She joined the team in 2017 and has enjoyed meeting all the different patients and getting to know them as individuals. Tracey enjoys spending her time off with her husband Jake, their 2 year old daughter Emma, and her other “child”, her dog Duke. She enjoys traveling as often as possible and exploring Portland and all the activities the city has to offer. They also love to spend time at the beach with her family living in Astoria.
Jackie Murphy-Snelling, Registered Dental Hygienist
Jackie was born and raised in Portland, OR where she graduated from Reynolds High School in 2008. Her passion for dentistry started with a conversation with her childhood dentist during a routine cleaning appointment. That led her to begin her career in dentistry as a dental assistant in 2011. She has experience in both general dentistry and Periodontics. After working in that capacity for a few years, Jackie decided to pursue her ultimate goal of becoming a Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Mt. Hood Community College in June of 2017. We were pleased to have her join our team in March of 2018 as a full-time Dental Hygienist. Jackie has a passion for education, whether it’s her own or educating her patients. She enjoys helping her patients understand their oral health so they can make informed and educated decisions about their care. When she’s not working, you can find Jackie enjoying the local food scene, hiking, playing sports or just spending time with her wife, Vanessa and their 6 year old “puppy”, Pablo. She also enjoys time with her family who live in the area as well, going to concerts and on their annual family camping adventure at Trillium Lake.
Lisa Gomez, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Lisa moved to Oregon in 2011 from Las Vegas, NV but was born and raised in Southern California. Her dental career began in California working in Pediatric Dentistry 15 years ago. After moving to Las Vegas, she continued her dental career in Endodontics, General Dentistry and also working in a dental office limited to removable dentures. She began working as an assistant at Eilers Dental in 2011 and finds joy in easing patients minds related to dentistry and the various dental procedures. Lisa has volunteered her time helping low income families receive dental care through organizations such as Mission of Mercy. She is a mom to two boys, Xavier (18) and Emmett (10), which keep her busy while not at the office. In addition to being involved in their school and extra-curricular activities, Lisa enjoys running, wine tasting, experiencing different local restaurants, and catching a UFC fight whenever she can.
Rachel Yenter, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Rachel was born in the “Biggest Little City” of Reno, Nevada. Growing up in Wild West made her appreciate the rough and ruggedness of Northern Nevada and she enjoys going back to visit her family in her home state. However, the lush beauty of Oregon called her name so she settled in Portland in 2016. While her time living in Oregon is somewhat new, her time spent in the Dental field is not. Rachel started her career as a Dental Assistant in 2006 while living in Northern California. She has enjoyed the field of general dentistry ever since. We were excited to make her a part of the Eilers Dental team as the practice expanded in 2018. In her free time, Rachel enjoys gardening, hiking, camping as well as spending time cooking or reading a good book. Exploring the Pacific Northwest and all that the area has to offer has been a great pastime.
Elvia Parkes, Dental Assistant
Elvia was born and raised in America’s heartland, Dayton, Ohio. After studying fine arts in college, she earned years of customer service experience working in the airline industry. It was in that industry that she discovered her love and passion for travel as well. Elvia’s career in dentistry began nearly 6 years ago at Ohio State University. As a dental assistant, Elvia particularly enjoys the restorative aspects of dentistry and helping patients navigate each step of the treatment process while also promoting their overall health and wellness.
Last spring, Elvia’s love for travel and adventure led to embarking on a cross-country road trip with her husband, Tony and their 11-year-old basset hound, Leo. What began as a lifelong dream turned into 6 months of living and traveling the US in their self-build camper van. While enjoying visiting many sites and places along the way, Portland turned into their ultimate destination. While Elvia and her family feel lucky to now call the Pacific Northwest their “home”, we are happy that she found a home here at Eilers Dental during our practice growth and excited to have her join our team.
